Harriet & Jon

Being asked to photograph a wedding is such a massive honour. It means someone has seen my work and trusts me to document their day. To provide beautiful images that tell their story. So to be asked by a fellow Professional Photographer to capture their special day is seriously amazing. ‘No pressure’ was what I had been told a few times during the day.

Harriet and Jon got married at the absolutely stunning Manor By The Lake in Cheltenham which is a favourite venue of mine without a doubt. Harriet got ready along with her Bridesmaids and daughters who were Flower Girls. Hair and Make up was provided by the amazing Nettie Tyson.

Harriet went with a 1920’s theme that was absolutely perfect for the venue and her amazing dress. Boy did she own that dress!!! Jon and his boys looked equally dapper in black suits and dicky bows. Jon was also getting ready at the Manor so it was great to run across the hall and grab a few images of him also getting ready. Jon was totally cool as a cucumber at this point.

As we approached the moment Harriet was to walk down the aisle I noticed that Jon started to get quite emotional – it was such a beautiful moment and I managed to capture exactly how much emotional he felt. I had a rather large lump in my throat myself.

Later I realised why Jon got so emotional as Harriet walked down the aisle. You see when they met some 10 years ago Jon was working at Phones 4 U and Harriet worked over the road. His friend pointed out Harriet one day and Jon stated – ‘Im going to marry that girl’ – during his speech he still couldn’t believe his luck that he got to marry the woman of his dreams. I actually got really emotional myself at one point.

It was such an amazing day filled with so much love, laughter and emotion. I particularly loved that during their dessert Harriet and Jon had arranged a surprise for their guests in the shape of Singers Waiters and they were just brilliant. They got everyone up doing the ‘Twist n Shout and Conga’

Here is just a small sneak peek of what was simply the best day ever!!!
